The senior level analyst position analyzes, develops, tests, configures, implements, and maintains a variety of hardware platforms, network server operating systems, backup/recovery systems, storage infrastructure, enterprise services and enterprise analysis of these services for the clients of the Department of Information Technology and State of Michigan end-users.
This position is a senior level worker in the Cloud Automation unit. The team is responsible for providing first level client support for troubleshooting efforts, change control requests, and server builds.
This position performs a combination of evaluation, development, validation, documentation, coordination, implementation and enforcement of Quality Assurance (Q/A) standards and responses to audit questions and internal control evaluations in a lead capacity. This position requires discretionary decision making.
The position will plan, develop, coordinate, implement, validate and administer servers related to tools for the purpose of compliance and reporting on various operating systems.
This position’s primary duty includes writing, modifying, maintaining and executing scripts. This position is responsible for oversight of experienced level workers’ scripting activities. This duty requires attention to detail in all aspects of job performance.
Overtime and/or on-call may be required for this position. Due to the nature of Technical Services’ support services; division policy utilizes flex scheduling for time worked in excess of 40 hours per week in alignment with civil service guidelines.
Required Education and Experience:
Possession of a bachelor’s degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, or mathematics.
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
Alternate Education and Experience:
Possession of an associate’s degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant, may be substituted for the education requirement.
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
